I finally got my Flickr pro subscription sorted, and uploaded the first batch of pictures from my trip to YAPC NA in chicago. Check them out here

Nothingmuch has made a collection of moose pictures from YAPC NA. It's a real must see.
So, I'm keeping it going the last night before I got to YAPC NA. I've decided to adjust to the time difference by sleeping on the flight. I'm leaving for the airport in about 3 hours.
Guess you won't be hearing from before sunday, when we arrive at the SSV dorms which have wireless. Meanwhile here's a nice plant from my mother's garden to entertain you.

Spotted this scrolling by my desktop. Very nicely done!
I've borrowed a 70-300 lens with IS from work, so I'm currently having fun photographing stuff that was previously out of reach. It's sometimes a challenge to find a good angle to take the shot from, but I'm pretty happy with the result here.
This one was taken on our long weekend in Latvia this easter. We were visiting olga's cousin, and her family, and they took us out to this beach. We passed the dude in the water about 2 minutes before he went into the water. It must have been a quite cold pleasure.
We have a 6 months old cat named Phillip. He likes to play with strings, and go where he's not supposed to. He's also quite spoiled, and likes to beg for food, and sleep in our bed. Having a pet is a recommended activity if you're bored. :p
After dinner today, Olga and I went for a walk up to Lutvann, a lake about ten - fifteen minutes walk from our apartment. There is still lots of snow here, and ice on the lake.
Still, there's some quite clear spring signs. Bird are singing and water is running down the hillsides. The best part is the light tho. After sunsets about 4-5, it's awesome to have light until 8-9 in the evening again (partly thanks to Daylight Saving Time). This shot was taken about 8pm today.

While on the subject of flickr interestingness, here's My top pics.
Some dude who calls himself bsidez had added me as a contact in flickr, so I decided to check out his photo stream. Here's his most "interesting" pics (according to flickr.) I've got to say, some of these really blow me away. I aspire to take pics like that some day :)
We've finally had some good weather in Oslo today, with very nice sky and backlighted clouds. Just had to snap this shot from my terrace.
I got one of those new Intel Imacs on friday, and the first thing I tried out was the built-in iSight. Apple has bundled a program called photo booth which lets you do all kinds of fun stuff, like you can see on the right han side here. When I say the first thing, I meant the first thing this morning tho, because I chose to migrate my data from the g5 imac via firewire, and that process took about 9 hours, so I didn't get to play with the new machine at all on friday.
After one day I'm pretty happy tho. I don't use much software, iTerm and Firefox certainly seems snappier (once I got a universal binary for Firefox).
These dudes look so cool. I'd like to hang with a meerkat.
