<@marcus> maciej: Search::ContextGraph takes forever to process like 6000 nodes. <@marcus> well, not really forever, but a couple of hours so far. <@maciej> that module contains many of my best pessimizations
22:52 < Peyomp> Is there somewhere that explains clearly, what benefits
Catalyst gives over straight CGI and TTthat is suitable for
management types?
22:55 < drPoggs> Peyomp: Yeah - go in, say Catalyst and rub your thighs
vigorously at your manager :)
22:56 < drPoggs> Peyomp: Then say CGI and look sad.

My brother keeps sending me video links. I figured this one is worth sharing with you, since I have great sympathy for the poor girl. Pickles are the fruit of the devil, I tell you!
Thanks to silvija who sent me this link to endless hours of fun :) Apparently, they are planning on banning these machines here in Norway, so I guess the only place we'll be playing them is on ther intarweb. This one is even free.
22:13 <+phaylon> we should put that in the faq "If you want the cat devs to
finish a feature, write tests. drives them nuts and makes
them work harder."
22:13 <@marcus> tests++
22:13 <@marcus> will work for tests
22:13 <@marcus> we need that tshirt
22:14 <@mst> phaylon: works on DBIx::Class as well :)
22:14 <+phaylon> indeed :)

Three Tests for the Catalyst Core
Three Tests for the Catalyst Core under the sky,
Seven for the DBICers in their halls of stone,
Nine for CGI-Appers doomed to die,
One for the Mojoer on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Test to rule them all, One Test to find them,
One Test to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Firefox Flicks is a bunch of ads made by firefox enthusiasts. I'd have to say that this one is my favorite, but you should check them out yourself, they're surprisingly funny and well made. :)

When I was young and foolish, I wasted many an hour on this great game called 'Incredible Machine'. The concept was to build insanely complex contraptions to perform really simple tasks, like flicking a switch via pipes, balls, dominos and so on. Fortunately, it seems like some japanese people have wasted a whole many times as much time on making these machines come true. Just check out this übercool video.
Thanks to sri for the link.

20:29 <@chansen> Apache::UploadProgress allows you to just generate an id and popup a window and you are set :) It uses content negotiation, for firefox it's a small XML file ~ 50bytes + xsd and xsl 20:29 <@chansen> it also provides ajax way if you want a progress inline in page20:29 <@nothingmuch> Purge: yes ==D 20:29 <@chansen> and falls back to plain html 20:31 <@chansen> and example of usage:
<form action="/cgi-bin/script.cgi?progress_id=c 5e8e73b7a19dad01b8d4abd89ddd69b"
method="post"
enctype="multipart/form-data"
onsubmit="window.open('/progress?progres s_id=c5e8e73b7a19dad01b8d4abd89ddd69b',
'progress',
'location=0,status=0,width=480,height=15 0'
); return true;">
<input type="file" name="file" />
<input type="submit" name=".submit" />
</form>
20:33 <@chansen> there is also an example in trunk that uses JSON, Jemplate and Prototype
